Foxboro / Veris Partner Solution

Invensys Foxboro®, the leading global technology and controls company, has partnered with Veris, Inc. The Veris Verabar and Accelabar integrated flowmeter solution when used with the Foxboro industry leading IMV30 multivariable pressure transmitter, can provide temperature and pressure compensated flow measurement and produce high accuracy over operating ranges never before attainable in a single flow meter.

IMV30 Multivariable Pressure Transmitter
The IMV30 density-compensated flow transmitter provides highly accurate level measurement, makes flow rate calculations, compensated for changes in process pressure and temperature. Continual calculation of process fluid density allows calculation of mass or standard volume flow rate in the transmitter. Furthermore, the IMV30 provides full dynamic compensation for all variables affecting the flow rate calculation.

Verabar
Developed from aerospace technology, the Verabar averaging pitot flow sensor provides unsurpassed accuracy and reliability. With its solid one-piece construction and bullet shape, the Verabar makes flow measurement clog-free and precise.

Accelabar
The Accelabar is a new and unique flow meter that combines two differential pressure technologies to produce operating ranges never before attainable in a single flow meter. It is capable of generating high differential pressures for measuring gas, liquids and steam at turndowns previously unattainable—with no straight run requirements.

Interview with John Good, President and Owner

Key Benefits

Verabar

  • High accuracy (to .75%) and repeatability (.1%) verified at Independent NIST traceable Flow Laboratories
  • Velocity averaging – Higher accuracy and less straight-run required than other single point insertion flow meters
  • Superior non-clog sensor design. Far less likely to plug than competitive averaging pitots
  • Aerodynamic bullet shape is structurally superior and less susceptible to flow induced vibration and signal noise common in competitive sensors
  • Installation and operating costs are significantly less than other DP Meters such as orifice plates

Accelabar

  • High Accuracy .5% and repeatability (.1%) verified at independent NIST traceable flow laboratories
  • Highest turndown (rangeability) on gas, liquid and steam flows
  • No straight-run requirements – Can be installed directly elbows, tees, valves, etc.
  • Rugged and reliable – no moving parts and a 5-year performance warranty
  • Tested per API 22.2 protocol (oil and gas industry)
  • Economical alternative to other high-accuracy meters

Key Capabilities

Verabar

  • Measurement of gas, liquids, and steam
  • Differential Pressure flow measurement easily understood and serviced by plant personnel
  • Installation is fast and simple - typical installation in less than an hour
  • Can be installed and removed without system shutdown or depressurization of the pipe (Hot Tap Models)
  • Pressure/Temperature ranges up to 2500# ANSI
  • Pipe/Duct sizes ranging from 1.5 inches to 24 feet in diameter

Accelabar

  • Can be installed anywhere in existing piping systems without the costly requirement of additional straight lengths of piping
  • Ideal for energy management applications requiring wide rangeability based on seasonal usage of steam, natural gas, and chilled water
  • Ideal for skid mounted installations where space is limited
  • A single Accelabar can monitor the entire range of flow rates in applications that previously required multiple meters
  • Combined with a DP transmitter, the Accelabar requires no maintenance or calibration requirements
  • Capable of measuring mass or volumetric flow of gas, liquids or steam
