News Release

SimSci-Esscor DYNSIM 4.5.4

New release supports Microsoft Excel 2010 for the Bulk Configurator and the Excel Engine

DYNSIM 4.5.4 enhances the user experience.
Invensys Operations Management has made available DYNSIM 4.5.4, a maintenance release that further improves the software’s usability. The updated version enables the use of Microsoft Excel 2010 for the Bulk Configurator and the Excel Engine and includes performance improvements in other key areas.

Product overview:
DYNSIM is a comprehensive, dynamic process simulation program that enables users to meet and beat the dynamic challenges of designing and operating a modern process plant safely and profitably. The patch expedites comprehensive engineering workflow: design, operational analysis, dynamic simulation, operator training and plant performance improvement to reduce capital investment costs, improve process yields and enhance management decision support while leveraging existing technology investments. The patch provides support for Microsoft Excel 2010 (32-bit) for both the Bulk Configurator and Excel Engine. It also provides a new TPM Scoring option that allows users to select a trainee performance score considering only the high/high high side or the low/low low side. Other improvements include better graphical user interface performance when opening flowsheets and better performance for multi-box Operator Training Simulators on the Windows 7 Platform.

Key Benefits:
  • Minimizes design and capital costs by analyzing equipment operation over the full range of operating conditions;
  • Increases plant safety by ensuring flare and relief systems are adequately sized;
  • Validates the process control strategy to reduce risk during abnormal events;
  • Evaluates plant start-up and shut-down procedures and operation to reduce the risk of start-up delays;
  • Validates operation to prevent production interruptions and increase plant availability;
  • Certify operators are trained properly using rigorous operator training simulators.
Key Capabilities:
  • Rigorous first-principle process models;
  • Accurate and detailed thermodynamics to match design or operating condition;
  • Connects easily to third-party control system interfaces;
  • Integrated model building / instructor user interface;
  • Single integrated platform scalable from engineering analysis to operator training.
