Invensys Wins Control Magazine’s “Readers’ Choice” Awards for Process Loop Controller, Safety Systems and SCADA Software

Company is recognized by users from chemical, refining, power, upstream oil & gas and food industries

JANUARY 25, 2011 / PLANO, TEXAS - Invensys Operations Management, a global provider of technology systems, software solutions and consulting services to the manufacturing and infrastructure operations industries, today announced that readers of Control magazine have selected the company’s Safety/Emergency Shutdown and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) solutions as the best in the control categories of the magazine’s annual Readers’ Choice survey.

Invensys safety and emergency shutdown solutions were first choice among users in the chemicals, oil and gas extraction and petroleum refining industries. Invensys SCADA solutions were tops with electric power generation, oil and gas extraction and food and beverage production industry users.

Readers from across a variety of industries also rated Invensys as the favored supplier for Process Loop Controller solutions and gave Invensys high rankings in the HMI Software, SCADA Software and Data Acquisition Software competency categories.

“Being recognized in these Readers' Choice Awards means that not only have we consistently provided exceptionally fine quality products and service, but we have also demonstrated those capabilities to a large number of very loyal customers, who we are continuing to help achieve control and safety excellence,” said Mark Davidson, vice president, global promotional marketing and communications, Invensys Operations Management.

According to the magazine’s editors, there was some jockeying for industry position from last year’s survey, and in addition to the recognitions mentioned above, Invensys Operations Management gained ground in several other categories in the 2011 study, including Advanced Process Control, Data Acquisition Systems, Recorders and Signal Conditioners.
The annual survey is taken among automation users in a variety of process industries and is based on unaided recall questions. Responses are from memory or direct experience with the solution providers with whom respondents regularly work.
