Invensys Foxboro Profibus Solutions

Invensys Profibus modules provide a unique solution within the industry by enabling the addition, modification, & removal of devices without impacting on-going operations of the Profibus. Our open software approach with the FDT standard allows you to plug in the best of breed engineering & maintenance software, with complete diagnostic access through the control processor & the Profibus linking device.

The Foxboro I/A Series Profibus offering integrates PROFIBUS-DP/PA slave devices into the I/A Series system through redundant PROFIBUS-DP Communication Interface Modules that provide an interface between your system & PROFIBUS-DP/PA slave devices, including motor drives, Remote I/O modules, & field I/O devices. This architecture provides a fast seamless switchover from the master role to the tracker role if communications from the master are lost.

The InFusion Field Device Editor combined with the InFusion Engineering Environment, enables quick creation, assignment, & deployment of Profibus-DP/PA devices. Our Profibus Device templates reduce engineering effort since multiple instances of the same device re-use configuration parameters inherited from the template. Improved quality is also realized through template based standards enforcement & re-useable designs.
